POWER PACK (Power supply unit)
The system’s power supply unit provides electrical power for every component inside the system unit, as well as to the video display
monitor. It converts commercial electrical power received from 220v AC, 50 Hz outlet into the other levels required by the components of the system. In desktop and tower pcs, the power supply is the shiny metal box located at the rear of the system unit.
The two basic types of power supply unit are:
1. AT power supply unit (it is designed to support AT- compatible system boards)
2. ATX power supply unit (it is designed according to newer ATX design specifications)
