HOW TO FORMAT A COMPUTER (USING WINDOWS XP)
• Insert a formatting software in your computer and switch off your computer
• Switch on your computer again and press any key to boot from CD Rom
OR
• Switch on your computer
• Enter setup (press f10) to enter setup in some system it will ask you to press the escape key, or f2 to enter setup.
• Select your language (English)
• When you enter setup, you set your system to boot from CD Rom
• You then save and exist when you must have set it to boot from CD Rom
Note: This method should be carried on from the file menu, your system will restart, and then you press any key to boot from CD Rom. After setup environment or procedure, you will see these options which states
• To setup window xp now , press enter
• To repair window xp installation using recovery console press R
• To quit setup without installing window xp press F3
• In that three options, you choose/Select the first option and press the enter key on the keyboard.
• After which another options will appear which says
• To setup window xp in the selected item press enter
• To create a partition in the unpartitioned space press D
• To delete the selected partition place press D
• Because you want to format, you must choose/ select the option 3 (three) which is delete, so you press D
• After deleting the partition, you can then go to the first option and press the enter key
• It will display another options below
• Format the partition using the NTF file system (QUICK)
• Format the partition using the FAT FILE (QUICK)
• Format the partition using NTF without QUICK
• Format the partition without using fat file without (QUICK)
• After formatting the next thing to do is to install the window immediately
During the installation of window, ensure that you setup the system’s time and date, enter the product key that comes with your software pack in the space that will be provided in your computer. Follow all other steps and instructions your computer will be displaying,
Click next when required and finish after the windows setup.
Note: Your computer will restart several times during this process. Don’t press any key on the keyboard again whenever it displayed to “press any key to boot from CD Rom” the second time, be conscious of that because it’s important, to avoid starting setup afresh.
