HARD DISK DRIVE

The system unit normally comes from the manufacturer with a floppy disk drive (FDD) a hard disk drive (HDD) , and a CD-Rom drive installed ; The system’s disk drive capacity is not usually limited to the standard units installed .In
most cases ,the system cabinet is designed to hold additional disk drive units .These units can normally be a mixture of 3.5- inch or 5.25- inch drive units and include floppy disk ,hard disk ,CD-Rom, rewritable CD (CD RW) ,or digital video disk (DVD) drives types .Although three FDD units could physically be installed in most systems, the typical floppy drive controller supports only two drives . One or more HDD units can be installed in the system unit, along with the floppy drives. The system should normally be set up to recognize a single hard disk unit in the system as the c: drive. however , a single ,physical hard disk drive can be petitioned (divided) into two or more volumes that the system recognizes as logical drives c: ,D: and so on.
