THEORY OF INTERNET
          The term internet which is simply called THE NET is a network of all networks that any person, who is connected online, gets easy information. It can also be defined as the interconnectivity of computers that are connected via telephone cables and satellite links around the world. It is a network that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business and government networks of local to global scope that are linked by a broad array of electronic and optical networking technologies.
           It was founded by the advanced research project Agency (ARPA) of the U.S.A in the year 1969 which was recognized as ARPANET with the aim of new research information.


                   HOW TO CONNECT TO INTERNET
 Connecting to internet requires communication services. Satellites are used to connect through subnet like VSAT (very small aperture terminal).All the above form of connections make new research information to circulate.

BROWSING: This is what you do when you follow links on the net.

                        FEATURES OF INTERNET
HOME PAGE: This is a page that is displayed each time you launch to internet. It is the start page of any website.
WEB PAGE: A web page is the page on the website just like a page in a book. It is the resource of information in a website that is presented as a page
WEB SITE: This is a place that contains many pages in internet. It is a collection of webpage that are related to an entity, activity or event.
WEBSITE ADDRESS: This is the name of the website you want to search information from.
E-MAIL: It stand for Electronic mail, it helps in sending and receiving messages from the internet. For a user to send and receive message, he /she must have an E-mail address.
E-MAIL ADDRESS: This is a web address used to send massages from the internet.
E-MAIL ADDRESS BAR: This is where you type your E-mail username
E-MAIL BOX: This is a box where all received massages are stored on the internet.
BOOKMARK: These enable one to save or store links to your desired website for future use.
WEB BROWSER: this is a program used to view to the internet. It is also a software application that is used to access the web pages in the internet. Most web browsers can be used to send and receive E-mail, connect to web based E-mail services and receive new groups.
