HOW TO CONNECT A COMPUTER
Procedures:

Stand
the system unit casing and place the monitor on top of a table/desk, connect
the monitor to the system unit using the monitor cable. Then connect the power
cable of the system unit and monitor to the power source.

Connect
the keyboard to the system unit with the keyboard cable.
·
Connect
the mouse to the system unit with the mouse cable.
Remember equally that the system unit ports are of different
functions such as serial port, PS2 port and even the USB port. Choose the
appropriate port for each connection.

Load
the operating system like the window 98, or window XP depending on the user’s
choice. This loading is applicable to new systems or when the old system/computer
is being reformatted. This operating system will enable the program to run.

The
mains wire of the system unit is switched to the ON position and the computer
starts booting. Remember that any other peripheral could be connected to the
computer through the system unit.
A port is a
socket at the back of a system unit casing which enables the connection of
mouse, printer, modem etc. This allows instructions and data to flow between
the computer and the introduced device.
A monitor
port connects a monitor. A keyboard port connects a keyboard. A USB (universal
serial Bus) is a type of port that helps to connect multiple devices using only
one port. For example, you can connect a modem, scanner, flash disk to a single
USB port.
