USES OF COMPUTER IN THE SOCIETY
Computer is applied in Society in many ways:

1.     DOCUMENTATON: computer is used in offices, homes, for typing letters, reports, CV s etc.
2.     DATA COMMUNICATION: With computer, one can transfer data from one person to another or from one computer to another through Network.
3.     MESSAGING: Computer is used for sending messages to individuals using fax, chat messengers and other social networks like face book, e-mail etc.
4.     FINANCIAL PROCESSING: Computer is used for financial processing in industries, making payroll for government workers, stock inventories etc.
5.     DATABASE: Computer is used to record and store people’s data. It is also used in billing system PHCN and also to compute taxes to individuals.
6.     PUBLISHING: Computer is used for making different types of designing, Drawings and Scanning of documents.
7.     BANKING: It is used in the banking system for deposition, withdrawal and transfer of money from one bank to another. Transactions are made possible and reliable in the banks with the use of computer.
8.     HEALTH CARE: Computer is used in the hospital for medical services such as diagnosis of illness, checking people’s health condition like blood pressure/temperature and for drug prescription.
9.     ENTERTAINMENTS: Computer is used in playing games, music and for watching videos. It is used for recording, public addressing, studios etc.
10.                        EDUCATION: Computer is used for learning and teaching in most schools using software. (CAL). It is used for online registration like WAEC, JAMB, NECO, GCE, NABTEB etc.
11.                        SECURITY AND PROTECTION: It is used for security and crime detection.
12.                        RESEARCH: Computer is used to search for information using internet search engines such as goggle. It is used to search for user’s exact location, on the globe, Time difference, sunrise and sunset, Trip distance etc.
